Well we had 13c on a January night before so I'm reckoning on a 15c somewhere at some point before March 1st. Depends if the Atlantic shows us a proper tropical powered winter storm again...

14.8C

Geordiesnow, we see above 10C every Winter so I reckon it'll be a little higher than that. You could be right this year of course- we'll have to wait and see. Well, we may only have to wait a week :D (only jesting).

I am going to go for 15.8, and maybe we should have a little guess at the coldest temperature too? I am going for -18.4, with a good crisp cover of snow on the ground.

Well my winter starts on the 21st-Dec-21st Mar ;) . Maybe my prediction is too low but it would be great in the 'moden era' if no area reaches double figures this winter, unlikly but not impossible?.

for me id say around 12.5oC sometime in january, will get loads of double figure days, but nothing that high, last winter i had 24 double figure days, expecting more this season, as for coldest probably -3.5C which i saw on 24th nov, for me, as for UK probably 15oC in january in the east of england off SW winds

Are we talking about the highest CET daily maximum or just the highest temperature recorded anywhere in the mainland UK?

If the former then I will go for 14.9C, if the latter then 17.0C

For me I'd say between 1st December till March 1st the highest temperature anywhere in the UK will probably be around 15c in Ireland!

Not impossible as you say and would be really good to see. But very unlikely, one southwesterly spell down here and the temperature will be above 10C guaranteed, in fact it reached 11C here today in a northwesterly airflow. Perhaps if you dismissed southwest England?

Look for some 15 to 16 C highs in late December, but these may be edged out in mid to late February by 17 or 18 C highs ... January may only reach 13 or 14 C.
