Morning.

Watched a fantastic storm develop and then move out over the coast from Cleethorpes last night. I think Easington would have caught the brunt of it all.

Clouds started rolling in at about 19:00 and the storm past just to the NW of Cleethorpes but Immingham was reported to have hailstones. Brilliant CG's at one point. It was still flashing away out to sea at 21:30.

Although not overhead, there was quitre an impressive lightning storm just to the west of Bristol between 11pm and 12.30am last night, I watched the whole lot. Although the lightning was infrequent, it was very impressive and for the first time ever, I observed lightning reaching outside of the stormcloud - spectacular.

Anvil approaching Erith from SW. Mammatus on it's leading right edge, hail streaks on it's back right edge. No thunder heard, or lightning seen, though. Does look like a group of anvils, though

A cell passed, actually, flew just south of here (Camberley, Surrey) 20 mins ago, giving a few rumbles and a nice and long fork lightning. More messy cells all around at the moment

Storm in London (Southbank/Westminster area) - started around 2.30pm and lasted around 40 minutes. Not a particulary powerful one, but a storm all the same B)

Just had a very long, very distant and very loud rumble of thunder. The actual storm has just shaved across the south of me though unfortunately.

Sitting here at work, between Sutton and Reigate and just had a super storm,

Major lightning activity and overhead thunder, Torrential rain too, with some serious flooding on minor roads, had brief sunshine followed by yet another storm hot on heals of the last one, now slowly moving away.

What fun B)

A thunderstorm at Guildford!

Thunder to N.W. at 1:53 pm with periodic activity to 2 pm. Newly developing cell to S.W. advances with shower from 2:21 pm. Very heavy rain with slight hail (<5 mm diameter) at 2:27 pm to 2:29 pm, estimating that 3 to 4 mm rain fell in this time. Thunder from this cell as it recedes to N.E. at 2:30 pm to 2:40 pm, with rain easing at 2:35 pm. A short and intense thundery shower yielding about 7 mm rainfall and a drop of temperature from 19.5 deg C to 12.6 deg C.

Although the wind was prevailing from W.S.W., rain was lashing against the North facing windows suggesting a N.W.ly component to the squall during the most intense activity.

The cumulonimbus receded east with an impressive sky - as photographed at about 3:15 pm.

Heavy rain and 1 rumble of thunder :)

Theres a hole (5ft deep) that some kids dug last year next to the golf club where I work. The water table is 1ft from the top, much more rain and flooding could be a problem, lets hope for a dry autumn.

edit -we have lightning

edit edit - more thunder and heavy rain

just as I was typing the edit edit we have another thunder, but this time abit longer :D
