Light snow still falling here and as yet no sign of it turning to sleet or rain. Now hoping that it stays as snow until the band clears.

7cm average level depth at 11am. 1.1º

Looks like about 5" out there

Yeah, and the rest.

From the picture it looks a tad more to me, no doubt the ruler will settle it at some point.

Beautiful picture.

Started snowing very lightly around 3am, still had'nt settled on frozen ground around 5am.

I got up at 8am to see moderate snowfall and a thin covering, by 11:30am still snowing and a

'wet' snow depth around 1-2cm. Stoppped snowing 12:30ish replaced by v light drizzle.

very bizzare what happened last night. Was raining heavily until 8am then it snowed heavily for 5 hours leaving us with 3cm of snow, a slow thaw now, but still very cold!

So i went from being very unhappy this morning to plesantly suprised this afternoon.

I woke at 04.30 am to torrential rain bashing my window, the drive to work was dodgy due to the amount of surface water. We very rarely see snow here.......boooooooo.

Today was the snowiest day here for a couple of years with just over 5 inches of snow in total, along with some drifting which has been sorely lacking in recent winters.

The snow began in the early hours and continued till lunchtime when it turned to light rain and then died out.

Just woke up and there's a dusting on the cars, which is quite a change as it was pouring down when I went to bed.

Some sleet with a few 50p flakes in heavy shower around 0815 this morning, surfaces very icy when walking to work afterwards. Cheshire Gap looks very active at the moment...
