Got a sleet/graupel shower round about 5.30 am which gave a nice covering on the roads and paths and continued to switch between graupel and rain but has now turned increasingly to light snow. temp is 1 c

Reporting about an inch of wet snow from Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. [My home town]. This makes it the eighteenth morning this since late October with >50% ground snow covered, very unusual even up there for mid December.

The shaded areas still have the frozen remnants of last weeks snow also.

Stopped at the Lecht Ski Centre for an hour today at 1pm (637m) - light rain/sleet, 1°C.

Temperature was 7°C in Aberdeen city centre so we can work out a temperature/altitude ratio of 1°C per 100M.

Its been snowing here in Durham for the last hour, the ground is covering quickly. I hope the A66 doesn't get closed again!

I drove over the A66 at about 16.00 coming back from scotland and the snow was well coming down on the top, would think it will be closed tonight, was settling on road.now snowing in harrogate and starting to settle.. B)

Just got back from a drive on the B1230 over the Wolds, near Walkington, Beverley.

There is a good covering on the road over the top and conditions were dangerous.

Spotted a car that had skidded off the road into a ditch but was unable to stop so have just reported it to the Police. I hope they are ok. B)
