A quick and provisional guess - for the usual competition-scoring reasons - of 12.4C.

Don't think I'll change my mind about it being high, but may decide in the next week that it'll be even higher.....

MEANS for MAY

1961-1990: 11.2

1971-2000: 11.3

10-year running: 12.25

5-year running: 12.2

13.9. I predict a continuation of settled and warm spring weather, possibly with very high temperatures at times towards the end.

12.6c, another warm month but much more unsettled than March & April were with most of the warm spells from the first half of the month coming in from the South East and very thundery, perhaps a cool wet spell mid month before settling down later in the month.

Not as warm as last May,but I`ll still go above at 12.4c but a cold wintry snap from the north would be very nice and a bonus after this april of wintry nothingness, long overdue and to get snow to settle is a tough one,mid-90`s say no more. :D

Somehow I can't see that happening - this April has almost averaged that!

You could well be right but I'm ever the optimist.
