the only one alowed to put up...

well wouldnt surprise me if we get some Thunder tonight as this is intensifying .....as it moves North....

Wow that looks very striking! I love the MetO colour scheme - it really makes the rain look intense, though the NW version is more detailed. I hope we see something out of this too. It's moving very slowly...

Told you!! That area of stagnant PPN will move slowly North East overnight. Intensifying too it seems. Get stuck over the North Midlands then decay. But behind it, sharp showers and thunderstorms which I think will be predominant over the south west.

So Jane Louise, Loopydreamer and all south west of Birmingham... Tomorrow could be your lucky day!!

Phil. (But don't specifically quote me on that!)

The rain thats in the South now should very slowly reach here early on during Sunday. It will last a good few hours with quite a lot of heavy rain. Perhaps a fair bit of road flooding about. Most of the rain should of cleared by about lunchtime for most of the Midlands albeit the North Midlands. Anywhere south of about Stafford has a chance of catching sharp showers or storms in the afternoon and evening.

Thats my view on things.

4 flood watches in the Thames catchment Environment Agency flood warninings

Kind of looks like heavy rain heading that way again on radar.

Fairly heavy rain here most of the afternoon, but the ground is absorbing it well. No downpours yet.

OMG! Look at the rain across the South now!!

The rain approaching the SE is showing signs of intensifying too!

Are sferics being detected?

To be fair, very heavy is probably an understatement!

If that intensity holds up and it continues to faff around that area, roads will be rivers in a very short space of time!

MetO have extended the weather watch area for today now too!

Right, lets hope the electrical activity and a share of the intensity (after all, a bit parched in the SE) spreads East a bit :)

oh look Kent and E Sussex aren't in it further backs up my thoughts about the SE

Never mind - I'll hypothesise to resist agreeing with you :)

1. We've had such little rainfall compared to the highlighted areas, we'd be lucky to grow watercress on our ground, let alone flood (touch wood)

2. The MetO weather watches have been generally quite inaccurate lately, so if at the moment we're not in, tomorrow we should be :)

we just had a couple of huge bangs and big flashes here and rain is coming down like a waterfall , im nr Poole btw

Could be very interesting here in the morning if the rainfall holds intensity. Even if itlost some intesnity and remianed heavy it could still cause big problems because the rain is so slow moving!
