Another lovely start after a lovely evening of summer outdoors drinking. Rapidly becoming one of the best weekends of the summer - mostly since you're not getting soaked constantly!

20.9c the max yesterday which fell to 15.1c overnight and now 17.7c which is warmer than 24 hours ago. Perhaps 22c today - if cloud holds off; clear blue skies so far!

A much better start to the day yesterday and much much better than I was anticipating, the atlantic gloom seems to have got stalled over N Ireland and W Scotland, consequnetly we have seen plenty of sunny spells with some fluffy cumulus about.

Hopefully the clouds won't fill in this afternoon and any showers that do develop wait until the evening at the earliest. We shall wait and see.

Yet another beautiful summer's day, here in NE Essex.

Mostly sunny today (again), 60 days since our last sunless day (only 2 sunless days since 1st May).

Reached 24.7 at 14:05. That's 60 consecutive days of max temp 19.5+ (74 out of 101 greater than 19.5 since 1st May).

57 days (out 0f 101) since 1st May with temps greater than 21.

If no rain falls up to midnight, total rain since 1st May will be 154.6mm, and 45.2 of that fell on 4 days. Shows how dry it has been here.

So not overly hot, not overly cold, but a bloody good summer so far.
