Just had a very brief thundery shower here, 4 rumbles of thunder recorded and one flash of lightning seen. Very localised shower but still produce the goods of heavy rain and a bit of hail mixed in for good measure.

It was actually more than i expected here so a bit chuffed to get at least one thundery shower.

Not sure why people are that surprised by the lack of Sferics - pretty much every event so far this year has not produced much electric wise in the 'early' part of the day. More often than now, 2-3pm onwards produces the blitz!

Just coming back from lunch, some very robust anvils to the W! Had two heavy downpours in the last hour, though nothing to give me the impression of thunder occurring.

It looks like thats it for the day, pretty much no showers in western britan and west midlands, expect the showers over the NW to loose intensity and break up, eastern aeeas look like picking up the last of the showers, with only really the South West of England catching any more.

Very potent downpour tearing towards Surrey/Kent at the moment. Looks like it will miss me to my South, grrr!! But I am expecting texts within the hour
