Given that some might be away over the bank holiday, here is a thread for September CET guesses.

Some stats:

61-90 Average - 13.6C

71-00 Average - 13.7C

rolling 10 year average - 14.7C

2008 - 13.5C

For a cool month, you will be looking for a continuation of the theme of a southerly jet in the first part of the month with High Pressure moving over or to the west of the UK during the later part of the month.

Those punting on a warm month would look for an azores or scandi high influence especially early in the month where the days are longer.

Very provisionally, I would expect quite a wet month (wettest since 2000 maybe?) and mild with a CET somewhere around 14.0.

14.9 C - we had a fairly warm patch early summer - it will repeat itself for an Indian summer in the autumn, sandwiching that wet patch in between

September, unsettled and cool start. Indian summer conditions developing towards end of the month but not enough to make it a warm month. 13.8C

I'd punt for quite a mild/warm month, very wet keeping cloud cover at night up, averaging my punt:

14.4c
