Now stopped and if the temps drop tonight (They didn't last night) it could be quite icy. The other band to the north doesn't seem to be going anywhere very fast and I fancy it fizzle out before it gets to us.

So unexpected sleet/wet snow this morning and lunchtime and a unexpected dry afternoon coming up.

Yeh seems one heading south out of the newcastle area and another brewed up in the north sea heaing over the NY moors.

Hope they converge on the Leeds area although i'm not being greedy............

You must be fairly sheltered and very lucky with temps like that, i'm at 3.2c here in Hull.

Just got back from a walk to the chippy, and it's bitter.

Dew point back down to -0.0 here

I don't think the band in the N sea will hit this area, once again the metoffice and other forecasts have got it wrong, always the same when it's a LP, very hard to predict its movement.

It could move in later, but around me and south won't get it .

    Lewis

Lewis is your weather station still in the same location as before? Those temperatures are very high indeed, it was 0.5C here at the time you made this post and nowhere in our area was above 1C!

A slight covering here this morning which has mostly disappeared in the sunshine now. The temperature is now falling after a maximum of 0.9C. Rather cold early on with a min of -2.9C too.

Currently 0.5C with a dewpoint of -1.2C so favourable temperature still, however Im a little concerned that the area to the North is thinning on its eastern edge. Hopefully it'll make it here.

We've got to get out to bring the horses in, so it could turn out to be an interesting afternoon

The temp here is below 1c,although i'd rather the PPN wait a few hours as the temp drops further.

Just starting to get a few flakes of snow, but the good news is that the DP has dropped from 0 to -2. There does seem to be more of a southward movement of this band as well, so fingers crossed.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
