Correct. That's IF the low forms there, rotates there, tracks that way, etc, etc.

The latest Met Office fax has it a bit further south east.

We'll see ...........

For us it needs to come at least 50 miles west for it to make any sort of impact. I think Bristol and around Newport see the best of it personally.

yep, that's how I'm reading it too.

calling Jackone!!!

<_<

A very cold morning today, at -6c, at -1.5c at 6pm, so probably a snow day.

Looking very promising for tomorrow, with new charts showing pretty much all snow, albeit not that much perhaps. As for the Low Pressure developing, it could get very interesting indeed

20-25cm in places was mentioned on the BBC, probably this amount of snow would relate to the West Country. But this is extremely low confidence, this wasn't even on the weather maps yesterday.

Not what I have heard. WAG had a stockpile to cover 1.5 years,

S**t has Swansea really run out of grit!!!!! If no snow and school and work open then I have to drive around Swansea all day :(

There is grit in the bins up here.

I can't believe some areas of Wales have run out of Salt. No minor roads gritted here and also some main roads NOT gritted this evening, this is terrible, so much for preparing for snow and ice.

Oh and it's 0.0C on Mumbles Head at 6pm - That's rare

Wednesday morning looked brilliant - oh well I'm resigned to the schools being closed pretty much the rest of the week. Childcare will be a nightmare and I'll probably end up having to take unpaid leave.....but the kids will have fun at least!

Certainly snow is likely tonight, away from far west coast. As for the LP there is huge uncertainty about this, will we get it maybe.

Lets hope it stalls over Wales!

There should be at least a dusting of snow for most parts tonight as the weak occlusion moves south over Wales. The tricky bit is forecasting the exact position of the low pressure and how far west it will track before moving south into the channel. 50 miles variation each way of Dereks forecast could result in significant snowfall to the whole of south wales or it missing the country altogether. At this range of forecasting the UKMO fax chart will be the most accurate and provide the required detail. Interesting times!

-7 here pretty impressive for this time of the night. I wonder what will happen tonight was a good forecast from derek however he did say it would be hit and miss some places could see 5-10 cm (and thats tonight/tomorrow mornin) otheres could see next to nothing to nothing is certain, I just don't like the way the band is looking in the north looks very messy.
