Just noticed on the metoffice the main orange warning has switched to the NW

Yeah i saw that earlier, swings "n" roundabouts though, expect alot of changes over the next few hours .....hope

Mets Issued a warning for the Pennines Yorkshire Areas -

Yorkshire & Humber: S Yorkshire W Yorkshire Heavy Snow & Widespread Icy Roads 2157 Mon 4 1200 Tue 5 Showers of sleet or snow will fall onto sub zero surfaces, leading to widespread ice on untreated surfaces. In addition, snow showers are likely to become heavy at times, with the potential for an additional 3 to 6 cm, and locally 8 to 10 cm, especially over higher ground.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.

18z appears to be an upgrade for ppn across the region. pinch of salt time to be honest - time to watch the radar - good luck y'all

NAE model downgrades the precipitation for tomorrow keeping it further west, however its now a case of watching the radar. smile.gif On the other hand the GFS 18z upgrades it slightly. The NAE and GFS short range model are probably more accurate. But that doesn't mean they will be right, in fact the net-weather model as it further east...

Just had approx 5 flakes of snow in Chesterfield and now its stopped. The Sheffield snow shield is in full effect. Tomorrow I expect a sea of white to cover our region with a small green island containing Sheffield and Chesterfield :)

Just had approx 5 flakes of snow in Chesterfield and now its stopped. The Sheffield snow shield is in full effect. Tomorrow I expect a sea of white to cover our region with a small green island containing Sheffield and Chesterfield :)

6 flakes here about an hour ago, off to bed see what the morning brings.........

The main area of snow isnt due till 5-6 am.you will get around 100.mm in chessi with your alltitude.the showers at the moment are very light. :)

The ones on the top right and bottom right are excellent. i might nick them for my desktop if thats ok...

i'm very confused by the downgrades for york. Paul Hudson was positive this evening but then said the snow was sheffield/bratford.

i'm sure we'll get a bit tomorrow mornig - just not as much as i'd like..
