Yeah, increasingly feel like we might be too much under the immediate influence of the high to share in what might happen in eastern england over the coming days. Non-conducive 850's - and a relatively localised fetch and mixing from the north-sea - might provide nothing better than snizzly/grauply stuff about in central/eastern districts (another feature of winters past for those that can recall, when sometimes thats all an easterly amounted to in these parts). Still cold for the time of year but no real snow-top ups and maybe some ongoing east-coast mushing nearer the sea.

Hope this is correct, but indiacations are that the land to our east will be invaded by milder air. I guess this can always change.

I remember running through models back mid December and even then there was a possible break down before X-mas, infact dout over lying snow on X-mas day till around the 22nd/23rd. So once again the candle of hope is burning for prolonged low temps, and with east flow, we have to benifit.........please dont snow on the Scottish Borders though as thats not fun any more. Dump on the rest of us though please. drinks.gifdrinks.gif

Whats coming? And will it come by aberdeen?

You can see the cloud bank to the north of the UK which will make its way down eventually........As to its path, that wont be known until its in direct line with us.
