-4.5 DgC on lying snow - crunchy!!! Not going to risk the journey into work, couldn't even get off the drive, so a little bit of home-working for me today.

Looking at the sat reps & radar the SE location im in looks very favourable at the moment although I wont count my chickens until its on the doorstep--

remember the forecast last night- somewhere will top 50cm............

I think the forecasts are being conservative (AGAIN :wallbash: ) regarding this next system due today.

The white area highlighted on the radar is what to watch for. This is a constant stream of showers that will progress S/SE.

Get under this for any length of time and bingo. You'll do well. Some red echo's on the radar suggestin 8-16mm per hour. 1mm rain = 1cm snow so that's 8-16cms of snow per hour. They are showers remember so they wont be that hard for that long but some fortunate people around today!

Wow, what part of Norwich are you in? we've got 3.5cm in NR3

Hi I am Nr3 (Sprowston Road) and we have had nearly 10cm now!!!

I am confused by the weather graphics on the BBC as they contradict what is being said.

Hi, Eye - is the wind forecast today going to stay a north-easterly? Looks like we could catch some of the these showers if that's the case. Being in the west of the county, I need that NE wind to keep me in the frame!

Looking excellent for the whole of this region over the next 48hrs.

I noticed the BBC mentioned heavy snow tonight in the SE. Also tomorrow the forecasts indicated a band of heavy snow showers moving into Lincs, Wash, Norfolk.

Just awaiting my snow to arrive in the next 30mins.

TEITS

Enjoy your snow - what an easterly we have - beautiful - somewhat alarming though is the duration of this cold spell from a look at the latest model runs... showing continual snow for much of the next 10 days or so - I can only imagine what impact that will have on our infrastructure!

Yes, I saw the BBC forecast that low is spinning in something special for you and later on at around 12noon for us in the SE!

Could you give me a link to the best radar which shows systems coming in - I would be grateful. thanks. ENJOY!!!!

have got less than 1cm here but my kids schools in Downham Market are closed. Dont have to go out in the snow and can just admire it from inside so LET IT SNOW!! (only dislike snow when I have to drive in it!)

Moderate to heavy snow in NE Essex. Roads are completely covered now - they were clear at 5.30 this morning.

Temps up a smidge in the last hour to -5.5c LOL!

Snow has JUST got much heavier. No way a white out though. How many here have experienced a true white out?

Just what I was thinking. Winds are too light for a start.

At the moment I have a NW,ly. What will happen is the snow showers will spread further SW as the LP tracks S. Once this happens the flow returns to the NE this evening.

Still -13c here near Bicester (was -15c)

Seems Oxfordshire might break some records re overnight lows in some areas ? I think Benson was -18c on the BBC weather ? A few unofficial sites would beat that. I wouldnt be surprised if there was a -20c somewhere in Oxfordshire last night. Bitter cold on top of a foot of snow

I think the snow band will spread further west the predicted
