Looking at the radar even heavier snow shower could hit me in around 30mins.

However although the showers don't look much every single flake is settling due to the bitter temps.

Im sure come tomorrow we will both do very well.

-3.4 light snow here what more can you ask for, its going to hapem big time here not as much as central england 15-40cm but mybe 10-15 i think (i hope) well goood night everone have to get up at 6 am to take peoplel to work in the morning or mybe not?

thanks.

Amazing falls there Updraft, not all that surprising given SE Kent was expected to be somewhat in a good situation, however I have to admit I was thinking more 4-6 inches, 8 is quite a decent amount more then I expected down there!

Tomorrow does look interesting, just a shame I'm not going to be online till the weekend fun is all over and done with it seems, probably will have one last look and make a punt about the next few days then head off to snowy Guildford lol!

FWIW totals tomorrow will very likely be hit and miss, some areas will get 4-6cms whilst some may barely get dusting, going to be another luck of the draw so to speak!

Thanks Helvellyn! Was a crazy thing to happen. I actually found out we were number one just before venturing up a hill to take snow pics. I got back to find paparazzi at my house!

Uprooted trees? Never heard of that before... incredible.

I'd imagine the trees roots were already very weak given the sheer amount of rain late in Autumn and the storminess of it, the extra weight probably just tipped it over the edge I'd imagine, esp as a good foot of snow really is very heavy indeed!

remember driving up the A1M on my way to work at RAF Henlow one January and the trees were so laden with snow they had toppled onto the hard shouder.

The low in the N Sea is really beginning to wind up now. Surely that is going to provide some considerable ppn, rather than just showers tmrw?

The North Sea low looks just like your avatar! Amazing rotation on the radar.

-16.7c now at Benson.

Immense cold there, as long as it stands thats an amazing temp difference even for a frost hollow, still as I said before whilst I've still got my doubts theres no reason why with such deep snow a frost hollow can't get that low...

Rotation - suggesting a polar low? Sorry if that's a stupid suggestion!

BTW xcweather says Southend @ -4C... GFS said low of -2C. Perhaps it's overcooked the temps later at the weekend too.
