If ice is your thing, check those pics of Geneva where strong winds and sub-zero temperatures combined to create some lovely (if slippery...) ice sculptures by the lake...

Chilly!

The lack of wind and the lack of a big loch/lake perhaps?

Suspect this thread will be closed by next week with the arrival of some sustained mild conditions. Can't see much frost about in the coming days given the higher dew points and loss of continental air.

Hopefully a new thread will be resurrected sooner rather than later, late March and early April can pack a wintry punch if a northerly develops.

In the meantime the next few days are going to feel very different to anything we have experienced since early December, it had to end sometime... pity the milder weather is going to be accompanied by less settled weather at least here in the north and west.

Those pictures are amazing, another result of the southern jetstream?

I'd love that, just make sure I don't let my dad out if we ever get that kind of ice. I think those icicle look like lethal weapons a god job the yobs would freeze to death before they picked them up.

As the Spring is upon us and the colder, wintry weather starts to subside, we have opened a general weather banter thread here for all the conversation that doesn't fit into specific threads: netweather.tv/weather-banter

Cold Spell Discussion will return when appropriate.
