Temp is falling fast here now, 2.7c to 2.5c.

It's odd, it's sleet when it's calm, but when the wind gets up it turns it to 100% snow? What's going on there?

I think one heavy burst of precip will be enough to turn it to snow for the day.

Snowdon webcam covered in snow! :)

Hardly surprising, though!

Don't think I will see snow here, preciptation looks too fragmented for NW England

I've already seen snow here today, and i'm looking at it now. :)

The Irish sea will help pep up some precip and probably create some beefy showers. 2.5c.

Ah right, and btw, snow wont melt because of cloud, it will be because the precip has stopped, it's frost (Or the slightest dusting of snow) that will suffer from the radiation of the cloud.

Ah well, there's always next winter mate. :)

Just dull and wet here in Norwich and 4C, much as expected really. Surprised that snow is proving to be fairly widespread, I thought it would mainly be high ground until Thursday.

Re. Backtrack maybe the precipitation gets heavier as the wind picks up and that may be why you see snow then.

Thanks TWS. :)

Is the precip forecast to get heavier in my area later on? I would love to see some decent falling snow before the stickiness of summer. :)

Surprised this morning just how windy its been here Snowy, felt like just a "normal" NE'rly gale coming down The Forth. However there was the tree that crushed the car on The Royal Mile yesterday. And where I live, next to Hillside Gardens on London Road, there is branch and twig debris everywhere, and one whopping big tree virtually snapped in half. I'm surprised, although there was a few hours last night where the trees were plastered with wet snow which might account for the amount of damage...

Partly fife dome and partly east lothian dome!!! lol it snowed earlier in the night was great, lay, thawed and woke up to very little - very disappointing - huge winds too.

roads all clear round here.
