Considering any question regarding London and the South East has been ignored so far, I think we can take that as a great big fat no laugh.gif

Nothing much showing up on radar yet, but I suspect you may get something during the early hours!

As mentioned earlier on today, there is impressive upper level increase in winds over areas where showers/storm are developing, and this may help in storm organisation and formation of thunderstorm clustere, which, already seems to be already taking place as storms group over east Midlands. An active night looking ever more likely.

What I'd give for that convergence to be shifted 50 miles further west....lol.....I'd be in for a great time...even so areas in the West Midlands shouldnt be too disheartened....We're right on the western fringes of that energy, so still a chance of a downpour, or even better, a full-on t-storm :drinks:

Not had any rain here so far, lots of clouds have gone over head many very dark.

Current temp 20.9c feels very humid. Wind speed currently 1mph after peaking at 13mph just over an hour ago.

The rain that came our way split in two leaving us in the middle with not a drop. Could really do with the air being cooled just a little.

What are the chances of any storms down here in the southwest (Weston super mare)/Bristol channel ?

Low.

We may see some rain later though.. Unlikely to be "stormy"

But heres hoping..

Although, Saying that.. The stuff ive been watching down the SW appears to of intensified dramatically

Evening All!

Hitchin here and getting rumbles of thunder but can say from which way at the moment.

No lightning either at mo. Dry, very warm and very very humid with a breeze picking up.

Anyone see anything around Hitchin, Hertfordshire?

Thanks

Interesting question.....Whats the visible limit for lightning (under mid-level cloud)...The reason is, either some silly sod is letting off fireworks (with no sound) or I can see distant lightning to my east

"anaprop" And naa, looks like real rain..

ANAPROP - ANomAlous PROPagation - when radar microwaves are refraction by things like inversions down to the ground, and are then reflected back to the dish - as far as the radar is concerned, something is there, and so it displays it as a return, but it is not precip!

OMG sorry for the post spam, This forum has gone mad and isnt showing what it should be..
