Thunderstorm about 10 miles to my South in Bromsgrove according to detectors. Cant see or hear anything here but close nonetheless.

Strong echo on radar around J4A of the M42, wouldn't surprise me if there's a thunderstorm in that area

Tsk, I do declare the Sherminator is jealous...lol.....However, me thinks the roles will be reversed in a few weeks time!!

Actually very jealous, have not seen a Cb since the early December 2010 Snow Storms :wallbash: Enjoy it mate and hope to see some stunning Anvil and Cb Pictures with Hail fallstreaks later on :good:

The showers that could intensify quite a bit are the ones between Manchester and Nottingham on the radar, would expect sparks in Lincs in the next 1-2 hours

Has anyone noticed that band moving east around Bristol and Exeter?

Thats what i am watching but its not producing much in the way of lightning though. I am hoping it will pick up though, I am not sure if it will or not.

Moderate shower around 30 mins ago (3.20pm) that had some hail pellets embedded in the rain, no sferic activity as of yet however, but the next shower is already incoming.

Yahoo! Just had a rather heavy wet hail shower which looked so much like wet snow. It looked so pretty and wintry. Was not expecting it! And when looking at the Netweather radar, apparently the shower intensified greatly over-head. I'm sooo happy! :D

Better than last year already.

I'm keeping my eye on that blob just south of Chester. Come on, boy...

Seems to be getting its act together just west of here at the moment. Quite a pokey looking cell now

Unfortunately everything is seemingly heading to the north of me again. Hrrrmmmph.

I can't complain, had a nice little storm here today.

Showers losing their intensity from the west; heaviest showers now being seen further east......the Humber area and parts of Lincs look especially lively

Just heard a rumble of thunder from that potent cell heading this way. They look to be intensifying well, so there could be some heavy rain to come in a moment.

thundering here, 2 rumbles with a little rain, looks like some approaching cells to the WSW.

Had a feeling things might kick off at around 11am this morning where I saw my first proper tower cumulonimbus of 2011 at around 35-40,000 feet.

Updated radar

post-12083-0-09063800-1301844906_thumb.p

Seems as if they are dieing out on their western/NW edge, but intensifying on their SE flank.

Reef could be in for a hammering soon, I think i'm a little far too west, as the showers are moving more of a ENE direction rater than a NE direction.

regards

lewis
