Thought the entrenched cold and limited ridge through up an anomaly - good to have you here have you checked the Strat thread whats are your thoughts for Blocking this Winter? Are TWO in line with GP?

Not sure to be honest. I haven't checked the strat forecasts (or thread to be honest) and feel that winter looks more encouraging than it did a couple of weeks ago. As far as a winter forecast is concerned, I have no idea lol. Either way it is nice to see the white stuff on the cams tonight. In the short term it looks pretty cold until the middle of next week then older for a day then cold again by the end of the week. How long for is anyone's guess at the moment.

I got my first taste of snow up by Huntly today so it has whetted my appetite.

So nice to see some many famliar posters and some new posters. We have a great spread of areas covered from our kilted thread now - fantastic.

Still nothing to report here yet.

Still hoping for some upgrades for the east - not a great direction for snow here.

2.4/0.2 now. The cold front is really digging in now. If that shower stretching across Perth makes it our way it'll be snow.

Do you have and idea about what's in store for Tuesday Night? With temperatures close to freezing there seems to be an area of heavy, widespread rain.

Temperature back up to 4.3c now. :(

It's going to go up and down because of the showey activity. Look at the east the temperatures are dropping like a rock. And also the -5C uppers aren't set to arrive until Sunday morning. But what I think we'll find tonight that despite the temperatures going up and down, ultimatley it's getting gradually/progressively colder.

Could well be. It really just depends on the uppers profile - if an upper layer is above 0C it'll fall as rain, possibly freezing rain but rain nonetheless. We'll have better idea of that when it comes into NAE territory.

The thing is nothing at all fell here the last 50 mins although the radar was showing it right above here
