It's true that April was by far the biggest contributor, but the 1981-2010 average does rather exaggerate this as the new 30-year means for the spring months are markedly higher than for any other 30-year period.

Using 1961-1990 the anomalies are 1.0, 3.9 and 1.0, which gives an impression of modest warmth in the other two months adding to the warm April. The 1971-2000 averages give anomalies of 0.4, 3.7 and 0.9.

Well we matched Aprils temp of 12c. Interestingly the day time Max was lower than Aprils but those mild nights did the trick.

At least I was only 0.3c off this time rather than 1c plus.

Yes the mild nights prevented a CET below 12 degrees, otherwise we would have been looking at a very near average month. Certainly for the north maxima have been preety average for the whole month and it never felt particularly warm at any stage in contrast to April.

The Figure has been confirmed as 12.2, So I can post the score now.

A lot of people were very close but 5 players got it spot on.

Eabie, stewfox, sundog, davehsug and Don

The Seasonal comp is now over and the top 3 is Don (1st) from Jack Wales (2nd) and Milhouse (3rd).

In the Overall comp Jack Wales leads from fozfoster (2nd) and reef (3rd).
