Back and forward 3C a time? Sounds like a fault rather than weather conditions. Lol.

Sunny spells are developing in Manchester after earlier rain. There is no convection at all at present and the radar doesn't show any showers either.

Also, the satellite shows a lot of high based cloud moving up from France which should limit our chances for home grown storms.

Scotland may see potent storms in next few hours, an inversion over east anglia lol, maybe an import is the only chance tonight.

thanks for that.

I'm still thinking of heading back home to south yorkshire shortly. 2 hour drive and a place to sleep overnight (or chase from in the evening!) I'm just hoping that I get a definitive sign that things will kick off shortly!

Imports will never make it to me. Will I miss out again? I'm starting to worry now.

Ignore imports, and stick to the radars. Messages across several forums indicate that we are not far away from storm initiation across the favoured areas. We still have plenty of daytime heating time to do! :)

19.0C now. Things looking better.

The high cloud is heading South West, and will not touch our region.

Thanks. I think I'm in a favoured area, so I'll be glued to the radars. :)

I was just being paranoid...

The high cloud suggests so.

Its old anvil veils from French storms yesterday, a no show today seems likely for the east..

not a fault, when theres cloud cover it drops to 19c, when the sun is out it climbs quickly to 22c

well temps actually started to fall away a little down to 20.2°C now after reaching 20.7°C and looks like far to much cloud at the moment but will still keep monitoring.

I like your optimism! :-)

Hmm this cloud cover is holding fast. It doesnt bode well unless it clears within an hour or so, which at the mo doesnt look likely

temp is 21.9'c Dp 14.2'c here atm, still alot of residual cloud cover from the overnight mcs in northern france. A few gaps beggining to show, where they do you can see quite a bit of Tcu forming at high level. Not much needed to get things moving other than some clearer gaps. Temps are good and the air is primed to explode.
