An emperor penguin has taken a wrong turn from the Antarctic and ended up on a beach in New Zealand.

It is believed to be the first sighting in the wild in New Zealand for more than 40 years, and it's possibly the first time someone has seen an emperor penguin on the country's North Island.

Looks like someones tried to throw him a stick.....:D

I watched a program last year, when i bunch of scientist were trying to find out why the odd one took off on his own path, away from the group. Even when they picked them up and took them back, they just went off on there own again. They never came to a conclusion... maybe they just need some space lol

Hope this story doesn't have a sad ending :cray:

Although a trip home with the RNZAF isn't going to happen with it being winter down south I'd hope that they could point him/her in the right direction ... surely even Stewart Island would be a help.

I did wonder whether Cameron had transmogrified into a penguin and is standing surrounded by policies with no u-turn. Or Clegg having done the same surrounded by loyal LibDem supporters.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/06/25/3253544.htm?section=justin Looks like his health is going downhill due to eating sand thinking its snow. Surely they can keep it somewhere, as its obvious it's not going to survive in that climate :nonono:
