Lets not forget people that the storms coming out of France could intensify further, in which case I think they would become large enough to cross the SE of England. But if they remain as they are I fear they will just miss us and head through the straits of Dover........ Should get a good view if your on a channel ferry though :good:.

omg this is intense!!!! i only have one fag left!!! lol!!

Get to an asda gives you an excuse to get out. Im wondering if the dog needs another pee just to get out onto the field opposite some amazing views from there. Lets not forget it will start getting light here in a few hours

Am I clutching straws, but Im sure its moving more northward.... Well not moving northward, but spreading northward

The circles I keep in the same place for both images, and delay of about an hour

Hmm that mcs has already travelled some distance. Hate to be a pessimist but storms can die as quickly as they started as soon as they move into lesser favoured conditions. I wouldn't hold your breathe. I remember the night that storms fired up dramatically over London. Loads of sferics (confirmed by reports) and it was heading my way and nearly reached me on the radar. I was so excited and I kept looking in expectation when seeing a couple of distant flashes. An hour later.. Nothing at all! Total disappointment that was. I hope it does work out for those people down there. :drinks:

Hopefully your right about that, that map would fit in with where the MO put under the warning.

i was thinking it would be slightly more east than that! I think it could hit the south east but some peeps here think it wont! i guess we wait and se how northerly this thing goes

SB I have been studying three different radars over the last hour or two (Sad I know) and to be honest I think its tracking a little more NE than what you are showing in your diagram....... Happy to be proved wrong though! :drinks:

I've just been woke up by lightning, no discernible thunder though. Where did it come from...this is the West Midlands?

Am i right in thinking CB's follow the upper winds..? if so what is the best HPA wind vector to overlay on the NW radar ... 500, 300hpa ..?

cheers,

Steve.

Agreed. I looked at the contours of the wind vectors and most take the storms up NE just inland of French coast — at best might clip Dover.

This Cell on the frontal system is the one of interest for me.

Worth keeping an eye on Adi.
