With 4 inches of snow and a single track main road it looks like our annual trip down to Manchester and the Christmas Markets are off. Oh dear i might just have to take the oportunity to go for a nice long winter walk.

We've just taken the dogs out and taken some lovely pics of the valley from Old joeys, its much thicker than I expected, lots of dropping trees in this stunning sun. We're supposed to be driving to Hull, that's if we can get down the drive!

Anybody in Oldham tell me what it is like due to drive home from southport shortly

Gorgeous sunny skies now, the perfect conditions to go out for a walk with the dogs. I intend to them and my camera in the the hills of Oldham. Just about 2 inches of lying snow here (Oldham central), might me more up in Saddlworth.

Good to hear of the snow reports down in this part of the world!

We've had nothing since early Friday morning, nonetheless we've still got a good 2-3cm on the ground.

Over in the Scotland Thread we came up with a map which shows the locations of the members, weather stations and some traffic cams. Could be a good idea for you too!

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=206636917279838344801.0004b43b92b63f7ec3195&msa=0&ll=56.535258,-4.658203&spn=6.58271,19.753418

Also, if anyone has any expertise in computers, perhaps you could have the "Will it Rain Today Radar" ontop of it too.

A few more snow showers this morning. Light but nice! We've still got a nice dusting from last night too. Been better than I expected!

catcam...for those who didnt get a fix...(including me... :( ...had 3 calls from folks this morning - 'oh its snowing in hulme, really BIG flakes' (07.30am) 'hey its snowing in stevenage - and its settling'(10.30am) and of course scotland's finest wind up merchant ringing me up to get me to watch the weather forecast...

http://www.maccinfo.com/cat/

There looks to be milder stuff trawling over us midweek so I cant see much but wet windy and not particularly 'snowy' conditions now for a couple of weeks at least...oh well, at least the heating bill won't skyrocket again...every cloud and all that..

You guys have no idea how frustrated I am.

We've not had an air frost, and last night came down to 0.1C, and the night before 0.0C....

Also, I think Liverpool airport's station is broke. It's 3.2C here, and I can see the airport from where I live, yet they are reporting 6C?

It's 7C here though (well 6.7C), so it seems correct to me?

Clear blue skies and stunning sunshine, temps have been falling here with an indicated outside temp of 2.3c but my car has frozen sitting in the shade, it wasn't frozen this morning.

Looks like your dewpoint has fallen, allowing the formation of ice!

Afternoon. A very sunny, snowless day here. Think I heard hail during the early hours, if there was any snow, it's long gone.

Surprised when I got back home today, left southport and it was 6c! Sunny and dry! Got home and it was 0.5 driving in a 4x4 was even a test and been out with kids on sledge! Top fun, it's not melted and not sure what forecast is for tonight?

Be careful out there foks, black ice on pavements and roads. Very nasty stuff.
