1c in Tenby- sky's already 95% covered with thinnish high cloud moving quite quickly across the sky from the WNW.

Not expecting anything other than rain here, obviously.

Was planning a trip to Snowdonia but, looking at the mountain forecast, it's going to be a pretty mucky day...

High ground in East Wales may not be a total write-off for a bit of snow...

DOH! 10 minutes after wondering about it, the temperature started to rise with cloud arriving from the north. Looks like I've seen my low tonight.. still -5.6c is pretty damn cold. Currently -5.3c

Liking the forecast for Wrexham... taking into account my elevation and the fact that this narrow valley rises steeply on each side to 400m+ I'm getting excited! Although I am further west than Wrexham :cc_confused:

Temp: -5.3c

-8.5c here currently, still clear for the while at least so should reach -10.0c again. Expecting some snow at least before the rain tomorrow, and maybe freezing rain too.

Someone mentioned reports of snow in Ireland earlier but all rain now as far as I can see: http://www.met.ie/latest/reports.asp

If Dublin reports snow when the front reaches then it would be a very good sign.

why?

Because it would suggest that warmer air is making less eastwards progression than expected.

Dublin is more or less the easternmost point of Ireland so most likely to see some snow.

Remember my first 19 years in Swansea, this set up reminds me of 1980s type winter. Miss it this time, I think you'll get a hit next time
