Haha, can't believe you're looking West. It's a complete non event for us whilst the south east gets pasted AGAIN.

I'm giving weather a rest for a while now, as I really cannot be bothered with all of these let downs.

I think if anything, it's going to be from the north with a disturbance in the flow in the form of a trough or small low, odds are slim to none and it's likely that winter is over now for the north west.

So for now. Adios.

Don't forget to post some pics of your new look, you should know better than to make a bet with our fickle weather.

Given how much further southeast it is, more western parts of the region may start seeing much milder temperatures moving in. Already the temperature is over 2C here at 2.2C

I'd put the coast of our region up there with the far south west of england for the poorest places for snow in the whole UK i really would it is absolutely dreadful!

Just to rub a bit of salt in the wound, here is a quote from the Mids thread....... ''Just getting heavier and heavier. Could easily beat Saturday judging by whats to come on the radar''

Nothing like a bit of 'here's what you could have had' lol

Got this from yorks thread

There is a chance of heavy snow across West and South Yorkshire later on.

Heres why..

The NMM for 8pm

post-8968-0-52469800-1328817324_thumb.pn

As you can see above there are two main clusters, one over North West England/Wales the other over the East midlands.

The reality is everything is further east by 50 miles, the meto radar shows where the PPN currently is.

post-8968-0-74344400-1328817314_thumb.pn

Red is the area that should be over the East Midlands, instead its over the North Sea.

Black is what should be over Wales and North West England (highlighted by the white circle)

Later on the NMM project these two clusters join together and push north and west, this should happen over Wales and western parts of North West England. Everything is further east so in theory the joining of the two fronts would happen across central northern england.

He's only going so we don't ask him when he's shaving his eyebrows........I want to see it lol

Lol me too :p

To be fair - I put the chances of him being right over 50/50 due to the ambiguity of the bet - It was 'white Christmas' type bet that counts snow by observing just one flake but over the whole NW including the higher fringes and is relatively likely - or was at the time.

I doubt whether anyone would be happy with such a scenario ramped up and called a snow event though.
