I tink this event is more galling because it could possibly have been our last chance for snow for a while

I think the biggest kick in the teeth for this region for snow lovers IMO of recent times was March 2004. There was no marginality involved, everyone was reporting snow to the south and west, the Met Office issued a severe weather warning for snow for the region at 10pm, it was knocking on the doorsteps and it died out!! Absolutely nothing! Just a few flurries of snow the next morning and that was it. Diane Oxberry the next night was embarrassed as she forecast a snow cover for many parts. There had been little snow that winter for the region so to get a slow moving front coming against the cold block brought excitement. Also embarrassing for the Met Office to issue a severe weather warning and 2 hours later after issuing it that anyone looking at the radar could see that nothing was going to happen.

I agree, really closing in on the Central/South Midlands though, feel so so gutted about this

No change in my temp since 11am, obviously no chance of snow tonight despite the straw clutching. Although I do admire it all the precip will just be dragged away not to mention some of the worst upper temps and thickness.
