It's a beautiful day here with some very interesting cloud formations. Might head out up the hills shortly and see what the conditions are like overlooking the Mersey into Wales.

A very hefty shower heading right for me.

These showers that are developing in the Irish Sea are the strongest I've ever seen in a long time - & this is just the beginning with the trough not due to dig in until later. Today is going to be VERY interesting. :D

Our window of opportunity is very small. Mainly early evening. Later the wind will turn more northerly so most of the showers will be over the Irish sea and north Wales. Again southwestern extemities of our region should continue to see them through the night.

Karyo, always the optimist! IM south east of the region, still hopeful of a few flurries after midnight

Heavy snow has arrived here after a lovely sunny morning, temp 4.3c so not sticking... yet!

Looking at the radar there's lots more to come!

Edit: Really heavy snow now, blowing in on a strong wind, could be an interesting afternoon!

Lol! Don't get me wrong, it's better than a southwesterly but I just wish this cold spell had more duration and favourable wind direction.

The blob of heavy showers over northern Ireland may prove interesting if it can get here.

Same as everyone else, more of the same (hail) although around 7am this morning I was awakened by the sound of heavy rain and moderate winds lashing against the window pane. I knew a squall-line was coming from talk on the BBC Forecast before I finally went into the land of sleep, so it wasn't much surprise to hear it that early in the morning.

I took a quick glance out the window and i've seen a hundred similar LEWP lines before with energy dispersal being displaced through rainfall, so I went back to bed.

There is a chance of snow... look North on the radar, sounds like your sensor is in the sun.

Wait until the temperature starts dropping off in around an hour.

I just live on a higher ground, close to 100 metres. hence closer to the Pennine chain.

Colder uppers are not in place yet, it's likely to be rain/hail until 3:30-ish.

TWS has just reported snow with an air temperature of 8.1C. Amazing.

Sunny and clear blue skies and feeling chilly. Quiet hopeful of seeing something later tonight when uppers of -8 are over us. Maybe a nice streamer.
