6.3c here not much chance of anything wintry at these temps. Lots of showers packing into Scotland and moving south, lets see what happens.

The cold front hasn't even reached us yet and the temps are dropping not even forecast for snow until after 21:00 tonight so just got to be patient and wait for it to get here as it only got to Scotland about an hour ago

Maybe if the showers come over you the temps might drop rapidly, especially if its blustery.

Its sunny here in Leyland but not a cloud in the sky.

Temps should drop significantly from about 16:00 to 18:00 anywere between 0-3 degress mainly 0 degrees at 21:00. Dam and hpa are good after about 17:00 onwards

I realise things have changed temperature wise but at the moment it's all swings and roundabouts after 18:00 the temps could stay at 2-3 degrees till snout midnight but I'll keep checking

I'm watching the radar now, those showers over Scotland have a real kick to them.

Temp 6.6C here.

Yeah, but it'll be 100% convective snowfall, them NMM won't pick up on that I bet.

Surface Temperature at the Weir weather station now showing 4.5 c, this has gone down one degree since this morning. Lets hope the showers in the irish sea make it in land later.

Currently dark scudding clouds interspersed with bright sun

It's snowing in Scotland at +6C.

The temp also dropped to 2c quite sharply during that shower.

Yeah don't buy that. It's simply untrue, that station was -1C half an hour ago, so it sounds like it's giving bogus readings.

IS the Irish Sea starting to pep up?

Yeah, the Irish Sea is now starting to stir from her monthly slumber. Give her a couple of hours. Our temperature will fall dramatically and the first showers of hail/snow will have arrived.

Here's something to watch out for later on:

post-8895-0-24876700-1329570358_thumb.pn

That band of showers is interesting. They don't seem to be losing their energy as they transfer SE'wards. As they cross the sea they are likely to sustain their intensity.

100% something to watch, on a relatively strong flow like we've got here, they could make it to our region.
