Mild temps, longer days coming and rain is good for now :) I'll take that. Get that rain to warm the soil :)

Woo hoo spring is nearly here. :)

Raining here too. Wanted to ask you, sorry if off topic, but i know that leyland can get quite a bit for jets flying over from Wharton that can be heard, more so recently, but today has been odd as this afternoon as i was stood on the driveway can hear a very loud rumbling noise almost like theres a jet right above you hovering, it was very loud and lasted for about a couple of minutes, id never heard it before, couldnt see anything, then just now at 7.30 in the evening it has happened 5 times within the space of 10 minutes....just wondering if you heard it too? What is it?

Could be air manouvers over your location. Many of the bases which use the low flying areas in Wales fly across the central span of England as RAF Valley doesn't normally take on visiting a/c being an operational base for it's own sortees. Only a couple of years ago I remember watching a C-17 flying overhead from the states heading Eastbound at around FL300+

The fighters out of places such as Waddington only go around FL150 so depending on the airmass above often than not you don't see any of the wake-trails behind, just a 'roar' as described for a couple of minutes without ever being able to see the aircraft itself due to camoflague/light/haze.

Ah! I see. :p

Does your dog always wear a t shirt??

The rain weather warning today for the NW which has been there since saturday has mysteriously disappeared, it was still there this morning , with virtually no prep.

Tommorow looks a bit wetter though.....for now

Yeah, obviously.

Still a little chill in the air despite the mild - but its overcast with no rain now.

Lets hope the mild really does show up on Thursday.

Every time I go up the hills to photograph the sunset, it clouds over. Grrr.

Anyone got any tips on how to photograph birds? I saw a few Kestrels, but they were in hunting mode, and therefore hovering. My pictures turned out blurry.

You need to be using a fast shutter speed. Is it an automatic or SLR? I can't remember what you said you had.

Regionals will be merged back into larger areas shortly now that winter is drawing to a close. I know that for us cold and snow lovers winter hasn't been great compared to the previous 2 winters here in the NW. It has been frustrating for sure so thanks for bearing with it and keeping posting.

It's been nice to see both familiar faces and newcomers. For those of you who will will be leaving, I'll see you back here for Winter 2012/13. For those of you staying, then I'll see you around the place. Here's hoping for a warm summer with a few good storms chucked in for good measure.

Cheers

Kate

It's actually very chilled out on here during summer and there's a thread for any upcoming storm activity which gets busy plus we have the USA storm chase feeds courtesy of Paul S. So plenty going on. :) So I hope a lot of you will hang around.

It's been lovely to join the website and found BT forcasts to be the highlight so keep up the good work.

I will be popping on in summer as storms are amazing.

Lol, thanks. I do try.

I won't be going anywhere for summer, just probably be posting slightly less frequently, so you're not going to get rid of me that easily. :winky: :D

How come the snow doesn't do this, looking at the radar over the last hour the rain is generating back towards the coast when I thought it was going through?

SE areas drought, but certainly not here, I thought todays rain was only meant for the north of this region, was heavy upto 11am, then again from 4pm

Yeah, unusual stuff - usually when there is a drought somewhere in the UK in means most of the UK is suffering from largely below average rainfall - but not in the North so it seems.

Yeah, im not sure whether the local reservoirs around me have been backed up to conserve water but they were very full the other day when I saw them. Certainly a long way from a drought around here.

Shame the regionals will merge, although it'll soon be time again the way the years seem to fly by thesedays. I'll still be around through the summer for the storms and the USA storm chases. How I wish I had the money to go out there for them...
