I wonder how far the horrid fog and low cloud will spread inland? I recall last April the coast at times would be cool and foggy but here it was gloriously sunny.. I guess we'll just wait and see.

Hoping for a warm/sunny weekend here in NW England , the synoptics are certainly in favour of that ,SE wind,HP...but we shall see... will probably p*** down as usual.

Beautiful morning here. Looks like it's going to be pleasantly warm the next couple of days or so.

Going by the GFS its actually looking like the weather will be like today in the North-west until the end of the month!

Even here in the east its clear despite an easterly flow, very suprising!

As for sunshine, we're on 107 hours so far this month, so it'll be a long shot to reach March 2003 which saw 181 hours. Its definitely going to be a sunnier than average month though - the 4th in a row.

Was lovely today but I certainly don't hope it lasts.. this weather is nice for a few days but day after day of sunshine sure gets boring after a while.. give me some convection!

Got some very dense fog, came in at around 630am and has stuck around and just as thick as when it came in.

Current temperature 6.7C

Dew Point 6C

Im quite surprised at the low temperature reading at the moment. Should clear in the next couple of hours, but then again if we dont get the sun breaking it, we could be in for fog for much of the morning into early afternoon

Another cloudy day here. The sun is shining a bit, and there's blue patches, but it's not really making a great effort, can't wait for the winds to turn westerly again.

Dense fog off the North Sea in Cleadon earlier this morning, but the sun has broken through in the past hour. There will always be that chilly breeze off the North Sea but despite that I am registering 11.0C.

Reached 22.7º here today, which I'm guessing is my March record, but I can't access my records right now, so I'd be guessing. Beautiful day!

Edit - just checked my records and yep, smashed my March record, which until today stood at 15.7º!

I'm still eyeing up a possible northerly for next weekend but i have to say what a fantastic spell of weather

we are having at the moment, and more to come over the next few days.

Popped down to the local asda yesterday and it was all garden furniture and barbeques rather than snow shovel's. B)

You know it's been an unseasonably warm day when the supermarkets have sold out of buns lol

It would be interesting to see wintry showers on Saturday after what looks set to be a very warm sunny week, but I think the GFS is overdoing the northerly- we'll probably get a somewhat watered-down version like UKMO/ECM suggest.

I think there's a good chance of Cleadon approaching the 20C mark over the next 3-4 days as the high pressure will be centred further south, which will help to fend off the sea breezes. Even today it got to 17.9C at around 1pm despite a slight sea breeze.
