It looks like Newport is hemorrhaging storms!

a few tornadoes may develop with this activity. Indeed, should an isolated supercell develop in an area with decent surface heating, a strong tornado cannot be ruled out.

Surely Joe Public should be made aware of this? They seem pretty confident that there will be one at least somewhere.

Storm just finishing up here, best one in years, and we still have power (for now).

The northern storm has turned so much that Wolverhampton looks like taking the brunt of it now. I hope this is not the only action the west gets today, but I note that may forecasters are saying that the early morning period was our best today.

Looks like Ludlow is getting an absolute battering at the moment.

Yes the hail is very nasty, flooding quite bad. Thunder was constant for about an hour.

Just editing video at the moment.

Cant wait to see that! Congrats on the storm.

We did not even get rain in the end! Small margins in a situation like this and its still flipping muggy!

Looks to be taking a slight right-detour as intensification increases, but still on-par for the Peak District area with outflow causing some convective cells here at the moment, these cells themselves with enough lifting could spark into something soon.

I can't bring myself to look at the radar but it doesn't surprise me.....storms will do anything to avoid here. I've had 3 hours sleep, I may aswell go back to bed.

Didn't get anything overnight, even hardly got any rain which i expected more of. Looks like a beast of a storm you lot are getting, very lucky guys indeed! If only something over the south west could get going!

Shock horror

Massive storms zipping through Shropshire at LAST and they stay south east of here, just distant thunder and moderate rain here, oh for a more southerly wind direction!

Likewise. Drizzly murky rubbish here and no potential for activity. Let's head over to the NSC for a moan and leave these guys to it! lol

I can see how we missed out, but for it to turn so much and miss Telford was a bit harsh, had a real right turn in terms of the strike locations. South Shropshire had all the fun today!
