Relentless heavy rain now. All getting bit hairy on the flooding front.

What's the forecast for tonight? There is quite a lot of surface water around.

Should be dry tonight, but a risk of heavy showers tomorrow, with some more general rain possible later, which falling on saturated ground could lead to more flash flooding

Well, the sky's cleared now and we have some sunshine :)

I don't think it'll last too long but it's nice after such an awful day .

Stopped raining. Yeah! Still a very wet dog walk — lots of pooling in the fields.

Any interest in these Pics you reckon? After rain had passed through. Sorry North West Thread is locked. This is South Manchester about an hour ago.

Well, more rain here in Malvern today, we appear to be in the line of a series of sharp, heavy showers developing on the radar stretching from mid Wales right across to London.

normally post on Wales thread, but we had our food festival in Oswestry today, and apart from spotty cooling mizzle

at about 6.00 this morning, and a few cloudy doubtful moments, it has been gloriously hot and sunny. Please be that it is the same for the festival on Sunday, because there is something so nice about seeing happy smiling faces, eating great food and making friends with some fantabulously beautiful dogs, and their minders. Mr Blue sky is my new bestest friend!

Well, it's started rather cool this morning and it looks like showers again today although the most recent radar shows showers actually dying away probably due to the layer of stratus that's stopping convection.

Yesterday's showers where killed off by a layer of cirrostratus and we may go the same way in this neck of the woods today?

Although I'm a bit confused as to the direction it's going. I put the pressure overlay on the radar and going by the supposed circulation on that it should be going south...yet it's going North. I wish my course actually taught us about weather rather than maths...

They are very gradually moving NNE although the ones over Shropshire are almost static.

Of course they travel with the upper flow between the 850 and 700hpa levels usually.
