Very wet night here too, just woken up to heavy drizzle and grey all over.

You know the air this morning smells like winter, seriously!!!

The charts look quite good for once for around 8-10 days time, there's a HP gonna sit over us at one point and then big ridges of Azores high, so who knows??

One thing's for sure, once it flips,it'll stay like it and for weeks/months.

Let's hope it flips to warm and sunny! *fingers crossed*

We got off very lightly with the rain last night, and so far today — just about 5mm. Still very grey, damp and yuk out though. Those few mm of rain were enough to make puddles on the grass where it still hasn't dried out properly.

Looks like some cells bubbling up in Mid W wales, extension into the Midlands this evening. Shame I'm up in Scotland. Anyone know the state of the River Sow at the moment?

Cells rapidly going up now. Raining here now and dark to my South. Massive, intense cell over Central Wales!

Yeah, with lightning strikes recorded in the mid-Wales area, too. Looks like it's edging towards the W.Midlands.

Had around 15 mm out of the rain overnight.

In all honesty, I'd say Cannock doesn't have a great chance of a storm anyway. Main action looks to be marginally south of here.

An absolutely torrential downpour here in Solihull at the moment. I'm sure I can hear some very distant thunder as well.........

Right under the convergence zone atm, the cloud has just stopped moving from the east and has swung to the south, looking out for tornadoes!!!

Slightly eerie conditions here. Raining modestly now, however it's gone so dark outside I've had to switch the lights on so I can see the keyboard to type! In the mid-distance I can see much clearer skies, but this huge looming black cloud directly above us doesn't seem to be shifting.

Exactly the same, bright in the distant, very dark here, would be expecting it to be raining very heavily now but it isn't
