another video of the same storm. You can clearly see it is evident that none of the footage is sped up and no thunder really whatsoever, just lightning galore, phenomenal!!!

4:55 for a smashing positive bolt!

Hello all

Something to keep an eye on

http://hisz.rsoe.hu/...m_read&trid=707

Hope everyone is well

John

Thanks for posting link.

Looks like there is something strange with a couple of figures showing. Firstly it's saying Kirk is currently a tropical depression and has indicated tropical storm strength wind speeds and then the first forecast figure shown is not category 1 hurricane strength... Unless this model is picking up windspeed actuals / forecasts from a different source to the National Hurricane Center, whose storm category predictions it lists, which is what I suspect.

Screenshot attached, as it's bound to all be in agreement by the morning, when everyone is up and about.whistling.gif

Mornin each. Nice morning here in Ippy, quite autumnal in fact but all the more pleasant for that. Think we must have had a drop of rain in the night so it's very fresh today. :)

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to. âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡

I have another day of baby sitting my 7 month old niece and as any mum knows, it's exhausting. :( but fun as well. :D And I have to prepare a piece for a blog hop starting tomorrow. *Sigh* see you all laters. :o

I don't think it should cause us too many problems by the time it gets near:

Might it just clip us then? I wouldn't mind some fairly bracing winds. :)

Yellow Warning of Rain for East of England :

Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Norfolk & Suffolk

Issued at: 0539 on Thu 30 Aug 2012

Valid from: 0600 on Thu 30 Aug 2012

Valid to: 1500 on Thu 30 Aug 2012

Outbreaks of heavy and perhaps thundery rain will continue to affect parts of Northern England. The rain will probably extend into parts of the East Midlands and East Anglia later this morning and turn more showery in nature by this afternoon. The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding. Drier weather should follow from the northwest across northern England.

Well this far out and with all the other factors involved like the long journey across the open water of the Atlantic, the jet direction etc etc, anything is possible but I have a hunch it will materialise as strong winds in Ireland and Scotland and not too much in our part of the World - one to watch anyway.

More importantly for now, storm chances for some in the SE and EA today!
