How on earth did you manage that, K? I've just had the best thunder-day I've seen in years! You should have come to Beccles, for a storm chase.

Aw, wish I'd known. We had one rumble of thunder but lashing rain about 4pm. Next time huh? Why on Earth couldn't that storm have happened last weekend when I was in Beccles. :( Never mind, at least some of you got some action and thats good. I look forward to seeing some photos and videos. :D

It feels a bit 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' for me here today.lazy.gif Didn't get anything too noteworthy yesterday and have woken to a boringly cloudy day.

I look forward to seeing various photos and clips, from the many who had a good day yesterday.smile.png

In the meantime, I'll go to my local for the afternoon, for their cheese and cider festival.biggrin.png

I guess Wednesday and Thursday will provide more opportunities for thunder, so chins up if you're currently feeling despondent.smile.png

Edit, the Sun is appearing now.cool.png

Same here - and I hope you enjoyed the cheese and cider Steve !

Hopefully I might get lucky on Wednesday then for my birthday...and you never know there could be a storm as well angel.gif

Some real boring weather coming up this week and probably the week after, can't see much storm potential for thursday.

Just like yesterday was for us anyway! Astounding levels of storm avoidance...

And Ipswich. It's like we have one of those invisible shields around us like the aliens in the original film "War of The Worlds". :(

Ooh, that'll keep people on their toes. I hope the lion is caught safely. Poor creature.

Sorry I know this isn't weather but there is a lion loose in Essex, near Clacton!

Yes, apparently, about 5 miles away from where I live...

I'm just going outside ( for a walk ) and may be some time.unsure.png

I saw that on the news, poor thing... to think he might have run away from the Circus because some one told him the only way is Essex !

Anyway back to the weather, not a bad start to the day here with some blue sky and sunshine !

In the mane I think it will be a nice day and don't think the winds will be paws for concern for us...I'll get my coat

laugh.pnglaugh.png Yes, you do that! I, on the other hand, almost never wear a coat in the summer, even a camouflage one.ph34r.png .

I only intended to stay at the cider and cheese event for a couple of hours. The trouble is my first cider was a pint of the strongest one available, therefore I stayed all day and evening and even put a couple of Wurzels tracks on the juke box - 'I am a cider drinker' etc.blush.png

No way am I driving this morning.

Sunny here this morning ( to make it SE weather related.)ph34r.pngcool.png

I could take my camera. smile.png I might get the greatest action shot of a lion ever taken.biggrin.png I don't reckon the lion would eat my camera, so it might be a nice epitaph.tongue.png

So, let's look at the facts here.

1. there is a cheese and cider festival in Essex that goes on all day and leads to Wurzels tracks being played late at night

2. at the same time reports start to come in of a lion on the loose in Essex

I think that the truth is out there, it has just been distorted by the quantities of Nubthrumpers Old Finest drunk and the slabs of borderline halluconegenic Stinking Bishop eaten!

Bit of a breeze here this morning. I would be tempted to say it is feeling quite roar out there......

I'm hoping early next week is good (reasonably sunny / warm) I've booked a few days off work in anticipation of this (if it looks like that forecast is going down the Swanny, I'll be cancelling the holiday mind you)

I think you're right. It'll all be a fuss about nothing. There's also a deer park in St Osyth, so someone probably saw a large escaped animal and became confused about the species.biggrin.png

Mornin each. Lovely start to the day here in Ippy. Sunny and warm and well...nice. It's that lovely soft warmth as opposed to the harsh heat of summer.

Any more news on the lion situation? Or was it much ado about nuthin? :D

I don't think they've found it yet.....the temptation for the residents of Essex to sing the lion sleeps tonight is only a whim away rolleyes.gif

Urrgghhh. The cover version of this song, I remember, from my early teens, had some bloke, with horribly tight white trousers, from the band Tight Fit, singing this in the early eighties; a nightmare of adolescence.ohmy.png

Currently it's a good call for a juke box song, where I live, but I'd have to be in a major party mood to put that on.blush.png

Anyone else see any lightning tonight? I saw a couple of big flashes towards Arundel way when driving home from Hampshire tonight, at about half past eight. Nothing much on the radar though.

Maybe i'm seeing things fool.gif

Just checked through earlier lightning strikes but there seems like there was none in your area, could have been high level stuff because there was a small area of heavy rain among the lighter stuff.
