Just broke the 20mm mark!

The roads around the Purbeck area have minor flooding, driving conditions are terrible. 11°C too!

I've only just broken the 1mm mark! Currently 1.1mm. chilly 11.4c

the low looks about on track looking at the surface data available, not much to look at in detail, but tracking the low it seems about on track as per UK Met Fax, for those using the link I provided for the surface chart-see post somewhere above, not sure the No, then its got a closed 558 500mb over/close by but seems for the moment to be following the 564dm line. Unless it starts to deepen rapidly this should give as good a guide as any on its expected track. Pressure falls look to be below 4mb per 3 hours so not too large to further upset the upper air above it.

don't worry about the 'bump' ahead of it in the 564 line, its the upper ridge which will move more or less with the surface low

I was hoping one of the residents could confirm but it is showing up on NW ATD, I wonder if it could become a rare beast and make landfall.

Started to rain here about 15 minutes ago, still very light. As much as I'd like to see some heavy rain, it looks like it could cause some real problems in the far south. About 20mm forecast here according to the chart a few posts back, should be enough to sort out the recent dry spell.

Area of heavy rain now moving towards Guildford, getting darker by the minute.

There seems to be a corridor in Sussex/Surrey/Essex which is expected to be at the heart of this particular flank with South Wales on the other side.

I take it any thundery activity isn't forecast to get any further north than the south coast?

Been concentrating so much on the wind/rain, didn't notice thunder potential.

Petworth/Haslemere area:

I can hear thunder. Rain is chucking it down here, I heard the thunder above the boom boom boom from a local outdoor music festival half a mile away - Sheesh... those festival goers must be made of darn tough stuff...

No flashes no nowt, in fact it has brightened up over the last few mins

..Only light rain here now.

Jeez look at that cluster of lightning strikes south of the IOW.

Just typical passes us by, just typical

We have 18.7mm so far and the rain has eased and it's brightened up considerably now
