Not sure we will see any decent charts for a couple of weeks, the Atlantic looks like being in an active stage at the moment.

My only hope is that when we do get the northern blocking it's in a favourable possition for us and not like last winter.

A decent chart...

18z shows a potential look east pretty soon :)

I for one over the last few weeks have really enjoyed coming on here and hearing other peoples views and learning more about the Stratosphere etc... I personally think 2nd half will be better than 1st half of winter. But surprises can come and go between winter proper can begin.

Anyway back to regional discussion. Was a decent but cold start to the day today but then cloud increased and it rained for about an hour during early evening. Soon stopped though and became slightly colder again, nothing on previous nights though.

Current Temperature- 7.5c Wind Speed- 7mph SW Current Weather- Partly Cloudy

16th on is where the gfs run and ensembles are struggling

Over the years I have seen the models struggle where easterlies are concerned. Gotta be worth following the fax charts as they seem the best bet in these circumstances

Won't be clearer until early next week but nice to see gfs give a clue

However don't be surprised to see it change its mind tomorrow

*Turns the key in the lock, looks in at all the mess from the night before, closes door quietly and retreats back to the NW kitchen*

Morning you motley lot!!!! laugh.png

Chilly but no frost to scrape this morning, just damp. How are we all then? looking forward to some more cold weather and Winter potential?

Morning Coast and all,

It's a lovely bright morning here with clear blue sky and sunshine 3.8 °C so no frost which is good as I need to go out early !

Morning all. Just a heavy dew to deal with when leaving work this morning, oh and one totally isolated bank of fog when driving past RAF Northolt. It was quite odd. Just that one bank of fog for about 100 metres otherwise completely clear on a 15 mile drive home.

I rated last night a 2 on the BB Li..

From what I can see through the office window it looks like a corker out there. Here's hoping I get a few minutes of it at lunchtime.

It was sunny here earlier, but it's changing now... Not fair weather cumulus either, it looks like stratus / stratocumulus forming to me.sad.png

Just like Obama, the sun is still in charge this afternoon and just like Obama, everything promises to be rosy and bright for the foreseeable future...... :nea:

Hasn't it been a lovely autumn day? :) it was so warm and bright in car on ay to Ippy, I had to my sun specs on. They're super cool mind you. :D

Sky is lovely here right now and there are lots of vapour trails about. They look quite pretty against the turquoise sky and rosÄ— red clouds.

I was thinking the same thing here K. Took a photograph earlier of our sky, it's beautiful tonight.

And I would post it, but I'm not sure how.

Here is a screen shot of what you see when you click on 'More reply options' just do as it says and you should be able to post a photo; bearing in mind I use an iPad so it MAY be a bit different on a PC. :)

Sorry , it's not very clear. :(
