Frosty start, cold and dry with sunny spells. Maximum 5.9, minimum 0.2. Wind light NW.

Yesterday: dry and mainly cloudy, occasional brighter intervals. Maximum 7.2, minimum 5.5. Wind moderate N.

The Thames has just peaked here at a similar level to the widespread floods of January 2003, somewhat higher than in July 2007. A few properties in nearby Purley-on-Thames flooded but as far as I know the rest of the Reading area has stayed dry. When a flood warning is issued after heavy rain to our west the water in the Thames around Reading often takes several days to peak.
