Happy New year everyone. Just in from along the road.

Pretty icy with a penetrating wind here. Sky very clear with stars very visible even with the street lights.

Happy freezing start to new year...some interesting ice patterns on cars and a piercing wind as wrestled screaming children hysterical at having to go to bed at 2am....new year same old :)

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.â€

And he replied:

“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.â€

So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night. And He led me towards the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East.

So heart be still:

What need our little life

Our human life to know,

If God hath comprehension?

In all the dizzy strife

Of things both high and low,

God hideth His intention.

God knows. His will

Is best. The stretch of years

Which wind ahead, so dim

To our imperfect vision,

Are clear to God. Our fears

Are premature; In Him,

All time hath full provision.

Then rest: until

God moves to lift the veil

From our impatient eyes,

When, as the sweeter features

Of Life’s stern face we hail,

Fair beyond all surmise

God’s thought around His creatures

Our mind shall fill.

A happy and prosperous New Year to all on the Kilted Thread.

Happy New Year everyone, 2012 was a little dismal at times but 2013 should be a cracker. We're moving house in three weeks (up onto a moor :) ) and then getting married in May (or as soon as we have the money to do it  ). It certainly won't be dull. Hopefully the weather will perk up a little too, 2012 wasn't the best, unless you like rain.

Happy New Year one and all!

Many sore heads this morning?? bad.gif I had a fair few last night/early this morning, but not feeling too bad so far in 2013. Woke up to a white out outside - was that ice?? Was outside at 12.30 and it wasn't like that then....Hopefully a promising start to the rest of winter!

*edited - i see the GFS is certainly in a good mood this morning with the final frame of the 0Z setting the PV up over us! Of course utter FI but the ensembles this morning are looking tasty. whistling.gif

Was hoping to Ski this week. However given the current hairdryer forecast for Thursday/Friday. It will certainly destroy the lower runs thus preventing access. Might just hide for a few days and hope it cools down after Sunday!sorry.gif

I reserve my drinking for when I'm staying at my mum and dads knowing I can have a morning of peace....I'm so finished!! All I want these days is a bit of peace and my TV

Ironic thing is my 6 mth old is an angel it's the flecking 2 and 8 your olds that are causing the problems

Morning all, Happy New Year, jeez I'm going to give Ms HC the key to the cellar...bad.gifwallbash.gifwallbash.gifbomb.gif

Not at all sure I share the love-in with the 06z, looks like high pressure dominated murkiness to me - or have I just totally sschlatterflappled the remining grey matter last night?

*Was up this morning at 5.30. Went for a 10 mile run with a rucksack full of bricks on my back followed by a 2 mile swim in the sea out to the buoy and back. After that, cycled 20 miles home and now tucking into a plate of tuna, tomatoes and celery.

Heavy snow here; few cm's down already.

*This is what might have been the case if I’d been stupid enough to give myself a new year’s resolution and the big man upstairs rewarded me for my efforts. Instead going for mulled wine at the neighbours for 2 pm to get started.
