Thank you for your answers re Cheshire Gap. Something else to look out for then. Not always ideal but if the chance is there you never know. If the easterly can set up right we might get that flow off the Wash later in the week as well. Potentially, most of our snow this week could come in the form of showers from different directions then!

Been a beautiful day today, so glad I got out in it this morning. The frost has hung on in the shaded areas too. Bank of cloud has appeared to the north and west though...

the first band?

By which time its very light btw. Id say if that was a trend it might not make it past Birmingham before dying out completely

But the first band is practically knocking on our door already? Are you sure you don't mean the second band?

First band applies the brakes trust me. The 2nd band doesn't look very snowy at +24 either

TV forecast just mentioned rain for the coasts and far south but the rest of the areas they basically have no idea.

i disagree, those are the figures for tomorrow 3pm stoke. the warm sector passes after midday. definatly snow in any heavier bursts.

I agree the places NAE has rain have literally got to be right on the tipping point for many in the midlands. Lets see what gfs goes with...
