Some wrong decisions there I think!

Well we're not doing your drying or dishwashing, but at least you can come in here for the weather!

Dear me, some of us have our priorities wrong! I have a dish washer and a tumble drier, but I don't have a weather station, argh! Some wrong decisions there I think!

CD

A weather station is a very high priority. I can manage without the household appliances. rofl.gif

If I was you, I would remain simmering until a sign of the changearound comes about and that is not too far away in reality. The period from the 9th to the 12th January needs watching closely for the first signs of development. drinks.gif

Further to my post from earlier, the GFS 12z develops a Scandi High in the above timeframe, oh yes please. Thereafter, into deeper FI (Mid January onwards) it allows a large chunk of the Polar Vortex to envelop vast parts of Europe. These thoughts as I understand it are largely in line with what GP and the strat guys were hoping would happen. good.gif

I am trying not to RAMP as these are simply only pieces of a much larger Meteorological puzzle. The first signs of which are very interesting though. What you have to bear in mind as well is that the models are only beginning to pick up the SSW signal right now. Keep your eyes on the dates mentioned above because that truly is the key developmental period IMHO. As an example, it turns a wee bit chillier according to this, come the 13th, does it not.

Certainly looking interesting for our part of the World towards the end of next week, with height rises to our NE.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the cold 850hpa's to come forward in the models, with cold effecting the east before next weekend.

Yes please gotto that would help a great deal.thankyou

Done. PM sent. good.gif

My beard is starting to grow faster and faster, it normally does this when there is an imminent onslaught of cold weather. Don't worry about the in-depth meteorlogical technical output and just rely on the speed and growth of my beard smile.png

You wait until the bird's start nesting in it, that'll be a true sign that winter's over. rofl.gif

A continuing theme for cold in the model output today, though still a long way off from knowing what will happen. A wide scatter on the GFS ensembles portraying the uncertainty of the situation. The period between the 10th-12th Jan still of main interest however for the appearance of cold weather, though I would of thought it would be at least 3 days until we have a much clearer picture of where we are heading.

If we are going to see scenes like this again by the end of the month we will all need to wrap up warm cold.gif

Nothing wrong with my onesie (I'm wearing it now as it happens) for indoor relaxation, I wouldn't leave the house in it though !
