The north sea snow machine will be commencing fairly soon

When is the true cold suppose to arrive?

It is expected to turn a lot cooler through next week, not cold however. Its after midmonth where things are expected to change as we see the effects of warming in the stratosphere filter down and we could see colder weather arrive on our shores, thanks to northern blocking. So my bet would be last 3rd of the month...

Unfortunately I remember more promises of cold that have failed to deliver then that have delivered the goods so am not going to get my sledge ready just yet....

I'm sure we had a foot and half of snow here in South London from the Thames Streamer, I watched it on the radar and it was relentless dark purple blobs for hours :-)

the fax charts will give a much better clue but have to wait from monday through to wednesday

Many Thanks, looks alright to me so should be good enough to get in the air, ofcourse we will be looking out for dry landing locations although that could be hard!

Morning all, currently 8C and mostly cloudy here at the moment.

A few more mild days to come though turning cooler as next week progresses, and we may see frosts again! Models continue to look good for cold again this morning, good times ahead I feel.
