Looks like lovely bloody cold rain on Saturday for my location, joy of joys! Getting used to be soaked when I go to football nowadays anyway seems to rain all the time! Models are a complete mess at the moment though, who knows for next week, but I think for us coasters its going to be very difficult to get snow with marginal setups.

Hi all

It's all quite exciting at the prospects of snow! I just wanted to ask what sort of snow events to expect in the luton area? I have been looking at the charts and model forecast thread but it all hurts my head!!

I know there can be and will be big changes that will determine what occurs in the coming days.

Maybe some flurries on sunday!

6z nmm takes tomorrows precip even further south. Not liking this trend, but considering the potential in the next few days, i'm over it smile.png

Just watch the radar tomorrow - Simples! Cant do anyhting else, there could be a 50 mile shift either way!

Exactly and if you haven't got it already now might be a very good time to get the NW radar, a one month subscription is just £3.49

Well the roads in MK have been gritted this morning so they must be expecting it to freeze tonight and I've just stocked up on 24 cans of Heinz tomato soup, not much more we can do except sit and wait now.....

Guys a word of advice..........

Ignore the computer graphics of predicted snowfall, these can and will no doubt change.

Snow is a now cast situation, find a good live radar and a lampost!

You only get the old data on the top not the latest runs as they happen!!

They update every six hours (GFS) and 12 hours (ECM, UKMO).

The charts shown are the latest (last run).

You can watch the models live at their update times.

tomorrow's event keeps getting pushed further south but monday's, if anything, is slowly but surely upgrading with each run. I've jinxed it now!

So you dont have to pay the extra then it is all free on the data and charts? as it comes in

No - But not all model data is free, the NMM for example isn't free, NetWeather Extra offers a whole range of extra detailed charts that you can't find on the internet

just keep on watching the modelling of the fronts for monday. the 00z run ukmo/ecm had the centre of the low across london as it passes south. further east and we get closer to the less cold air. further west is ok but not too far or we lose the precip. tricky
