Is there a chance the mountains will take it all as it drifts doon from the NW? ohmy.png

It's possible but it's not as big a problem as usual, since it is an occluded front and since it heads south then east across the country.

Slightly larger warm sector Sunday night but nothing like the GFS:

Those waking up in Inverness should do so to some snow, at least a cm or two.

Those waking up in the central belt or eastern Scotland (maybe south-western as well) should have a morning filled full of snow- a few cms definitely possible- Falkirk, Stirling, Perth probably the hot spots- plenty of opportunity for Glasgow and Edinburgh though.

Should be a highly snowy morning and afternoon for much of Scotland thanks to a very slowly moving band- I'll be envious!

You are aware that much of Inverness is at little more than sea level?

Ok. Good job gambling is just about the only vice I don't indulge in or I'd offer a bet that most of Inverness won't wake up to snow!blum.gif

I'd say most of it isn't? City centre, Dalneigh, Merkinch and Clachnaharry, the rest of it is on hills? Anyway, the conditions look very good at the moment for snow, we'll have to wait and see!

I'm not a gamble either but I would bet Inverness has a higher chance than here. In fact based on all the output I could almost bet against seeing a flake of snow in the next 36hrs here.

I think she was questioning why there was such a difference between what she was reporting compared to yours as im sure her temp and dewpoint were a degree or so less... could be the extra height at allys

The temperature seems to be rising slightly which isn't ideal for the precipitation to fall as snow. However, snow seems to be appearing on a number of traffic cams.
