Yes moving slowly maybe a decent covering when it arrives if its heavy

I am smiling now at the snow laden sky al be crying when i have to pick kids up in it lol.does look ever increasingly dark from my window i can see over to middleton st george its on its way just hope it settles so the sledge can come out

According to gfs most of the region has 95% snow risk from 6am friday till 12pm saturday

I still think the models are overdoing how far north the lows will get, but even if they are we will stay in the freezer with a greater chance of an easterly in my opinion. Those more knowledgable than me in the strat thread seem to believe we are in for a lengthy cold spell in late January and February, with NE'lies being mentioned - always a good sign for the NE!

Nothing here yet but all the sun has been replaced by snow looking clouds

noticably colder now than at 9am.....the softer wetter snow in Durham is now freezing onto the hard surfaces.....going to be a mess tonight when the temperatures nose-dive as suggested. still snowing steadily though in the city.
