The 06z is almost an absolute stonker, but it looks a touch too warm on the east coast for my liking by Sunday. Still hoping to be in Keswick though if its not too bad to travel on Friday!

Looks like that next band of showers is finally getting its act together just before it comes onshore. Doesn't look as potent as the previous one though. I also have my eye on another batch further out to sea, but I think each shower will be slightly less heavy than the previous one today until it finally dries out.

There seems to be an band of heavy snow organising itself 10 miles out to sea and it's moving towards the cost. Hopefully it won't lose too much intensity and a few people may get a good half an hour from it.

Yes, this shower looks like it could a fair bit down in a short space of time. There is another line building behind it too.

still very disapointing with the totals we have managed over the last 3 days still have only a dusting which will probs melt, its just been the wrong type of snow and maybe a few degrees warmer than i had hoped for

Yes 2010 still remains our best for snow in recent years maybe the weekend will deliver

My guess, looking at the radar, is that those showers a bit further out, will intensify as they approach land, and will give us a good pasting at around about 1-30pm.

Quieter day tomorrow, then showers back Thursday, similar to today but colder. Friday and into the weekend, well, even the supercomputers can't get to grips with this one. However, my guess is that the front will pull across to the spine of the country, the winds will pull round to the North East here and we will get hammered off the sea in a stiff wind. At the same time we will be getting a knock from the West, so all in all a potent mix that extends right through the weekend into Monday. Thereafter, in Daftypants Land, the daddy cold moves in to give us a winter that lasts in the memory. Fantasy? You bet, but all totally feasible, I've seen enough winters in the 70s/80s to know it can happen,

Karl

Just starting to snow, and saw some birds flying in the opposite direction... Pfft haha

The sky has turned dark grey to my east, so it should be getting close to me now.

Just starting to get a few flakes now. Had an absolute belter of a snowfall between 0815 and 0850 this morning, about 2 inches fell! Although the traffic on Marton Road was horrendous until about 1000. Good thing i'm on holiday this week!!

I was disappointed by yesterday but the frontal snow went through quicker than expected.
