Pretty awful conditions out there now as the snow has stopped and very fine rain is now falling with the odd snowflake thrown in. I still think I'll wake to a covering in the morning as I'm sure those showers out in the North sea will deliver although it will be hit and miss affair.

Still snowig here although not as heavy. intensity 4/10. If the wind picks up off the sea it needs to be accompanied by some colder air or the the temps are going to rise rapidly.

Only disappointment was the thaw, but its all been replaced now!

Moderate now here at long last but not convinced its going to last long. But can't complain got a complete covering now about 4 inches deep. 1000 feet high is very handy when it comes to snow•

Ah very jealous mate my dad used to own a house at >200m asl near Stanley, and the winters up there were brilliant. Now I am on edge for every snowfall at my measly 45 m asl in Hebburn haha

I was amazed at the patchiness when I was out and about today, lower Tyne valley (east of Hexham and under 100m) was all green this afternoon, as was curiously around Edmundbyers and Minesteracres. County Durham (including the usual suspects!) has faired far 'better' for snow even to comparitavley low levels. There was a very pronounced line just east of the A68 that divided the much whiter conditions to the east, it was almost as though the warm sector that passed through only reached the A68 but gave remarkable differences in the snow line.

Fresh dusting/thin covering in Consettshire but it has pretty much stopped now.

Snow, sleety rain type mixture here in Peterlee. Hoping for these showers to come over.

Temps on the rise here 2.3ºC as the winds come off a relatively 'warm' North sea and dew point on the increase too at 1.2ºC.. Hoping skies clear for at least a frost before morning snow showers arrive in -8 to -10 850hpa air...

Still snowing moderately here but the snow does seem to be the wet claggy stuff that starts thawing as soon as it stops.

Nice covering of snow here albeit its melting a bit under the trees now, but makes a change I got more snow than you as it seems you always have more snow than me! :p

I think the convective window will be around dawn personally, only takes one full on snow shower to get a decent covering again.

There has been no temp rise here as yet, although I do expect it once the wind picks up prior to the colder air digging in. -0.1c here.
