I have to be up for work at 3.30 in the morning, hoping I might be driving to work in the snow but not holding my breath lol. On radar the PPN looks pretty pathetic.

Literally 8 years without snow? Have you only recently moved to this part of the world then?

Has the flooding effected you guys in Muchelney this weekend.... Levels been looking like a lake for weeks now,

Pub quiz fact: Somerset got its name from the original old name of " Summerland" because the county was only viable ( livable) during the summer months. Rest of the time it was under water.... Can quite see how it it got its name over the last few months.

Stick with raintoday.co.uk or fork out £3 something for a month of the excellent netweather radar. Metox has some good radar pages to give you and idea of the bigger picture over us and Europe :)

Lol! Bit of a non- starter then. Never mind. There was something falling outside about 20 minutes ago... But nothing of real significance. Oh well. Looks like the next few days could be temperature watch as opposed to snow watch. :)

Definitely looks to be fizzling out on the radar as it reaches the snow shield that is Newbury... Oh well at least it tried. :)

The last winter I was in England was 04/05- can't actually remember if I saw any snow that year! Since then I've been living in the sub-tropical north of New Zealand, so no snow there- only a couple of frosts a year. Was very envious seeing all of the snow here in the last few years! Being born in the mid eighties, the winters I remember here were the nineties and early 2000s, so really not seen any heavy snowfalls. And then of course when I return to the UK I move to the always snowy south west (!). Hoping for one of the fabled atlantic battleground events! rolleyes.gif

Very light snow flurries in Frenchay, Bristol as I left a meal to drive home out towards south glos. Not settling though.

It may be pepping up a little again in wales but more showery?

Maybe this is the milder air coming in behind the colder air, or maybe thats when it will pep up?
